Your community is improving, thanks to Dean Health Plan employees. Throughout the year, our employees—your friends and neighbors—are busy helping out the community through a variety of volunteer activities and events.
Here are just a few:
Regular blood drives at various locations. Last year, our employees donated more than 22 gallons of blood. In the last four years, we’ve donated nearly 78 gallons.
No Child Wet Behind diaper drive
Our employee diaper drive collected 21,517 diapers to benefit parents and babies in need who are served by our region’s county agencies, pregnancy helplines or family resource centers throughout Southern Wisconsin.
This is a fierce competition among employees in our IT and Facilities teams. Proceeds benefited the Ronald McDonald House Charities. We also collected items from the Ronald McDonald House wish list. Over the last 13 years, Dean Health Plan has raised more than $16,235 for the house.
Adopt a School
We’ve adopted Olson Elementary School in Madison as part of the Foundation for Madison’s Public School Adopt-a-School program. Employees hold drives to collect school supplies and winter clothing for the students.
Second Harvest mobile food pantry
Dean employees are regular monthly volunteers at Madison’s Triangle neighborhood mobile food pantry for Second Harvest Foodbank. The mobile pantry serves about 105 families each month.
Share Your Holidays
Dean employees are very active in raising food and funds for the annual Share your Holidays campaign for Second Harvest. With our employees help, we donated cash and food totaling 88,223 meals in 2016.
Breast Cancer Recovery
Breast Cancer Recovery was founded by Ann Haney, a former Dean Health Plan Vice President, and pledges to help women heal mind, body and spirit after breast cancer. Dean Health Plan is a founding contributor of the organization and continues to support it.
