Our combination of offerings, strategies, and service commitment makes us an excellent partner.

This is why we’re different

What is the best funding option for your organization?

It is difficult to determine which insurance option is best for your organization. Here are the primary differences between fully-funded and self-funded insurance plans.

Advantages of self-funding

Network Selection

Our Dean ASO integrated delivery network includes the SSM Health system which is known for its high quality of care and access to hundreds of specialists. We partner with you to evaluate access, discounts, and provider practices when considering network to match your needs with the right network. We are flexible, so if your business has sites outside of our service area we also offer most PPO networks.

Medical and Disease Management

Dean integrates physician leadership at the health plan, our hospitals, and clinics to develop cost containment plans. We provide Utilization Management, Case Management, trend analysis, and employer-based wellness offerings to help each client establish a cost-effective plan. Our top priority is to help members develop a self-care regimen when faced with a chronic disease such as heart failure or diabetes.

Utilization Management

The Utilization Management (UM) team uses pre-admission certification, prior authorization, and concurrent reviews to assess the appropriateness of medical services. The review of services includes skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, home health care services, hospice care, behavioral health outpatient care, and more.
