Ron Parton, M.D. is the Chief Medical Officer for Dean Health Plan, Inc. In his role, he provides direct oversight of Quality Improvement, Risk Analytics, Case and Disease Management, Utilization Management, Pharmacy Services and Prevention and Health Promotion. Dr. Parton is a dynamic and seasoned physician executive with experience in integrated health systems which include health plans, clinics and hospitals. He is dedicated to developing information systems and interdisciplinary care teams that improve the health of key sub-populations.
Prior to joining Dean Health Plan, Dr. Parton served as the Chief Medical Officer of Presbyterian Health Plan in New Mexico. In this role, he co-led the clinical quality program and was the lead health plan representative in the development of population health strategies to meet clinical quality and medical performance targets. Having served as Chief Medical Officer at Physicians Plus Insurance Company from 2001 – 2009, Dr. Parton is deeply familiar with the Madison market. He was also the CEO and Co-founder of Madison-based Symphony Care Solutions, which developed population health and care management systems to support patient-centered medical homes and to help Accountable Care Organizations achieve the goal of proactively improving the care for at-risk populations and reducing medical costs.
Dr. Parton lives in Madison with his family. He loves to spend time with family and friends, boating, golfing, bicycling, hiking, going to the theater and watching sports (football!).
