Marcus Julian is Interim President and CEO of Dean Health Plan. In this role, he is responsible for the overall executive leadership of the organization. Marcus first joined Dean in 2015 as the Vice President of Operations and he provided executive leadership over full-cycle insurance operations. In addition, Marcus was accountable for the development and implementation of innovative strategies to drive operational excellence across a broad array of insurance products and programs.
Prior to joining Dean in 2015, Marcus served in senior leadership positions across all sectors of the health care industry, including: Senior Vice President at Ascension Health, Regional Vice President at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, Chief Operating Officer at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Corporate Vice President at Allina Health and Administrative Chief of Staff at Medica Health Plan. He was also a successful consultant with Deloitte’s health care practice and served as a co-founder of Definity Health.
After attending St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, Marcus went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration and completed his post-graduate coursework at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
When Marcus is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, writing, adventure travel and volunteering for various non-profits.
