Teens + adolescents

Each year, one of every four sexually active teens will get a sexually transmitted infection (STI), such as chlamydia or gonorrhea. It is estimated that 15-24 year olds make up just over one quarter of the sexually active population, but account for half of the 20 million new sexually transmitted infections in the United States each year.

STI testing is usually done through either a urine test or a blood draw. Discuss any concerns with your PCP and determine which test is right for you.
