Support employee mental health

There is a significant employer cost to not investing in and supporting employee mental health. Approximately 36% of payroll accounts for employee absences, which is more than twice the cost of health care. Learn how for every dollar spent on treatment for common mental illness, there is a return on investment of four dollars in improved health and productivity. Depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and significant work stress are associated with presenteeism, absenteeism, and lost productivity, not to mention a poorer quality of life than thriving workers.

The Mental Health Continuum program*† offers an individualized, hands-on approach for you and your employees for every stage of the mental health continuum. Our health transformation consultants and counselors take a proactive and preventive approach to supporting employees through life changes, stressful situations, and generally maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In addition, for employees that would benefit from longer-term counseling or medications to manage their condition, our team works with the care delivery system to make the necessary connections.

Our staff is trained to provide the National Alliance of Mental Illness' one-hour stigma-free company program. The program's goal is for leaders and employees to support colleagues who may be struggling or have some mental health concerns and be a safe space for people to go to talk or get resources. Part of the training includes having the group develop ideas on how to create a stigma-free culture in the workplace and discuss action steps to implement their plan.
Our team is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management. If your company or employees experience a traumatic event (e.g., unexpected employee death, an act of violence, something catastrophic), Critical Incident Stress Management is a formal process that is voluntary for helping those involved. Critical Incident Stress Management allows them to share their experiences, vent emotions, learn about stress reactions and symptoms, and receive referrals for further help including referral to therapy and other services as needed.
