Dean Health Plan will migrate to First Health's wrap provider network on July 1, 2021. The First Health network can also be offered as a stand-alone PPO product for customers who have employees residing outside of Dean or Prevea360 Health Plans' service areas. This means that members will receive new ID cards containing First Health's logo, as well as a letter communicating how and why the ID cards are changing in mid-June 2021.
First Health has a robust provider network that will replace all of our current MultiPlan wrap/rental networks. This wrap network coverage allows for member protections and discounted rates for provider services when care has to be obtained outside of one of our proprietary provider networks. Provider directory searches will also be easier with First Health's single network comprehensive search.
The final medical treatment/service date that providers can bill for services within one of the MultiPlan networks is June 30, 2021. Wrap/rental network provider claims for dates of service on and after July 1, 2021 will be paid using First Health's contractual relationships with its wrap network providers.
There will be a MultiPlan claims "run-out" period for dates of service prior to July 1, but which are not billed to our health plan until after this date. This "run-out" period for submission of claims that are payable using MultiPlan's networks will continue for 12 months through June 30, 2022.
NOTE: No changes will be made to benefits or to our Dean Health Plan proprietary provider network. Contact your account representative for additional questions about First Health's wrap network.
