MADISON, Wis. (October 18, 2021) – Dean Health Plan has earned 5 stars out of a possible 5 for all of our Medicare Advantage coverage options from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as part of its annual Star Ratings for 2022.
This distinction reflects a high quality of care and service from Dean Health Plan and its network of providers. CMS rated 471 Medicare Advantage contracts across the United States this year and 15.7% of the plans earned 5 stars.
CMS calculates and shares Star Ratings for Medicare health and drug plans each fall to help beneficiaries and their families compare plans based on quality and performance. Ratings are given for 38 quality and performance measures across several categories including managing chronic conditions, helping members stay healthy, member satisfaction, and pharmacy services.
“This 5-Star Rating reflects our Health Plan’s commitment to service, collaboration with our provider network and the ongoing engagement of our loyal members,” said Kevin Eichhorn, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for Dean Health Plan. “Our communities need exceptional health care from a trusted source now more than ever. We take great pride in connecting our members to high-quality health care services and providing them with excellent customer service.”
The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for Medicare opened Friday, October 15, and runs through December 7. Individuals will have access to the Star Rating for Medicare Advantage plans during the enrollment process.
