Premium refunds

Dean Health Plan identifies premium credits on your account if you have overpaid a premium or if you have terminated coverage that causes a credit.

If you believe you have paid too much for your premium and should receive a refund, please call the member service number on the back of your ID card.

  • Dean Health Plan identifies premium credits on your account if you have overpaid a premium or if you have terminated coverage that causes a credit.
  • If you have current coverage with Dean Health Plan (DHP) under the same contract, the credit will be applied toward the amount due on your next premium invoice. If you prefer a refund check instead you may contact our Customer Service Department to request a refund.
  • If you have a new contract with DHP, the credit will be transferred to your new account and applied toward the amount due on your next premium invoice. If you prefer a refund check instead, you may contact our Customer Service Department to request a refund.
  • If you have terminated coverage with DHP and you do not have new contract, DHP will automatically send the refund check to you.

If benefits are overpaid

If Dean Health Plan pays benefits that exceed those you are entitled to, you must repay the excess as soon as Dean Health Plan notifies you of the overpayment. Dean Health Plan may, at our option, recover some or all of the overpayment by reducing subsequent benefits payable or by applying premium refunds due you. Dean Health Plan has the right to charge reasonable interest on the delinquent amount.
