Valentine’s Day Outings for the Entire Family

Treat your sweethearts to these area activities

No babysitter this Valentine’s Day? No problem! From the greatest show on earth to a private party in your own home, the best ways to celebrate cupid’s special day are family-friendly.

  • Snuggle Under the Big Top: The clowns, animals and acrobats of the Shrine Circus are in town to thrill your loved ones this Friday through Sunday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Grab your cotton candy and popcorn, then sit back and experience the charm of these spectacular performers.
  • Get Your Heart Racing: Flip for your family at Badger Gymnastics this Friday night. All ages are invited to burn off the day’s sugary treats at an open gym event from 7 to 9 p.m. Madtown Twisters also offers open gym sessions earlier in the day.
  • Burn up the Rink: Head over to Tenney Park in Madison for the Groove & Glide Skating Party, this Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. You and your special sweeties can take to the ice and enjoy music, games and one another. Warming houses and tasty concessions provide perfect breaks from the chilly temps.
  • Stay Cozy at Home: Make an ordinary Friday night at home extra special this Valentine’s Day. Whip up a heart-shaped pizza together, then rent a movie that everyone will love. End the night on a sweet note by creating a Valentine’s dessert, like these adorable layered Jell-O hearts or a strawberry milkshake.
