Local Spring Break Getaways

Vacation close to home with the family

There’s no better way to say goodbye to snow and subzero temps than going on Spring Break. It’s one of the rare times your kids’ schedules aren’t packed with school responsibilities or summer activities, allowing for a bit of family bonding and relaxation. Sand and beaches may be nice, but there are also plenty of local destinations you can enjoy at a fraction of the cost. Consider these trip ideas to celebrate the season:

  • Go wild at an indoor water park: A tried and true Wisconsin choice,  the Dells offers a host of indoor waters parks that bring the beach to you. Only this beach is warm year-round and has waterslides and geysers erupting from its waters. You can find a nearby hotel at the official Wisconsin Dells website or by heading over to a hotel deal hub like Priceline or Kayak.
  • Enjoy the great outdoors at a resort: Be some of the first to traipse across the newly uncovered hiking trails and golf courses and take in the fresh air. A number of sites also offer bicycle rentals for you and your family to explore the town. The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa has plenty for the whole family, plus the Geneva Games, where families compete in group activities to earn prizes like a free stay.

What do you look forward to most about spring? Let us know in the comments!
