Next Steps for Improving Your Quality of Life

Getting the best care possible starts with reaching out to your physician. Here are some tips for starting the treatment process for PFDs.

Start

Step 1 - Start a conversation with your doctor.

Speak with your Primary Care physician and ask for a referral to a Urogynecologist if necessary. A thorough evaluation should be completed to anyone experiencing symptoms.

Prepare

Step 2 - Come to the appointment prepared.

Tracking your daily symptoms can be helpful in sharing your experiences with your doctor.

Share

Step 3 - Provide specific examples.

Inform your doctor about your symptoms, the effect they have on your daily life and what changes you would like to see.

Plan

Step 4 - Help determine your treatment plan.

A treatment plan should be chosen based on how successful it can fit your lifestyle. Easy changes can have a significant impact on your quality of life.

Change

Step 5 - Be ready for change.

Pelvic floor disorders are not a normal part of aging and they are not something you need to live with. Be prepared to welcome your newly found freedom from PFDs.
