Refractive Surgery Costs and Financing

"LASIK surgery was definitely the best thing I've ever done for myself!"
- Davis Duehr Dean LASIK patient

At Davis Duehr Dean, we offer competitive prices for refractive surgery.

Don't let cost prevent you from having the clear eyesight you want — we offer various financing and payment plans that suit your budget. Seeing clearly again or for the first time is well worth the investment.

Fees

Refractive Surgery Fees

The following professional fees for vision correction surgery are all-inclusive: *

  • LASIK with IntraLase (all laser LASIK), Laser-Assisted Situ Keratomileusis with corneal flap created by IntraLase technology
  • LASEK (Laser Epithelial Keratomileusis)
  • PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)

The global fee per eye is $2,095. Your surgeon will determine and discuss with you which surgical option will be utilized to best achieve the refractive correction goal. All prices are subject to change without advance notice.

* Note: Some patients experience "Dry Eye Syndrome," requiring the placement of temporary or permanent tear duct plugs. Permanent tear duct plugs would involve an additional fee, which reflects supply costs only. The professional fee for insertion of plugs is waived.

Payment Plan Options

Refractive Surgery Payment Plan Options

Davis Duehr Dean offers several payment plan options for refractive surgery. There is no application fee or penalty for early payment and interest accrues from the date of surgery. Financing applications must be received two weeks prior to surgery.

Once your application has been approved, you will be contacted to establish a payment plan that is best suited for you. Your signature will be required, agreeing to the terms of the contract, along with your down payment on the day of surgery. For your convenience, we also accept cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, and MasterCard.

Insurance Coverage

HMO and Insurance Coverage

Many patients ask if their health insurance or HMO policy will cover all or any part of the fee for refractive surgery. With rare exceptions, the major health insurers and HMOs do not cover any part of the fee for refractive surgery. This is not likely to change in the foreseeable future.

However, you may wish to take advantage of the flexible spending account benefits if offered by your employer. Under the terms of these plans, you essentially pay for your surgery with pretax dollars and, in effect, save whatever your income tax percentage rate happens to be. Check with your employer to establish whether or not this benefit is available to you.
