What is the Marketplace?

The Marketplace (also known as the Exchange) is an online tool to look at your health insurance options and compare available plans on an apples-to-apples basis. This will help you choose a plan that suits your specific needs.

Anyone can compare and purchase insurance plans on the Marketplace. Financial assistance is available for individuals who qualify to help make insurance more affordable.

Three important things to remember:

  1. Research your health insurance options; including carriers, plans, and financial assistance through the new Health Insurance Marketplace.
  2. Purchase a plan from us on the Health Insurance Marketplace (after 10/1/2013) at healthcare.gov. We have many plans available.
  3. Initial enrollment period for the first year is October 1 – March 31. Individuals who enroll by December 23 will have coverage beginning January 1.
