I have insurance through my employer.

Beginning in January 2014, every individual is required to have health insurance, and Dean Health Plan is here to help. If you already have coverage through your employer you can continue to get your insurance the way you do today.

Employer-based insurance with a small group employer*

(Fewer than 50 employees)

There are requirements for small employers. Including: Essential Health Benefits, no employee can be denied coverage, no pre-existing condition limitations and out of pocket expenses accumulate to annual maximum.

Small group employers are not required to offer health insurance to their employees, but if they do, they must follow Health Care Reform requirements. Please contact your employer for information specific to your health insurance plan.

Employer-based insurance with a large group employer*

(50+ employees)

There are fewer changes for insurance plans offered by large group employers. These plans do not have to cover the Essential Health Benefits, but if they do, there cannot be an annual or lifetime dollar limit on the Essential Health Benefits they do cover.

 

*As in prior years, your employer may choose to make their own changes to coverage, premiums and cost-sharing during the renewal process. Please contact your employer for information specific to your health insurance plan.
