Just as you are committed to providing students and the community with a quality and caring learning environment, Dean Health Plan is committed to providing you with comprehensive insurance coverage. We also offer caring and local staff to field your questions and be there when you need answers.
If your school district has chosen to provide you with the Dean Health Plan (DHP) HMO Plan you can count on DHP for coordination of all aspects of your care including referrals to specialists when necessary and no claims to file when you see a network provider. What's more, preventive care, such as routine physical exams, mammograms and Well Baby Checkups are covered. DHP also offers several wellness programs, to keep you and your family as healthy as possible.
With the HMO Plan you are covered1 even when you required out-of-network urgent or emergency care2. That means you are never far away from affordable health care when you need it most. Find a list of doctors in our extended network of providers If you are traveling within Wisconsin (but outside the DHP service area) or outside of Wisconsin, to help avoid unnecessary fees.

If your school district has chosen to provide you with Point of Service (POS) coverage you have the ability to chose your own physician, while enjoying the comprehensive benefits similar to an HMO plan. You are free to see the doctors of your choice, regardless if they are Dean network providers. And the same applies when seeking emergency care - which means you'll never have to worry about needing comprehensive care away from home.1
You are not required to choose a primary care provider and no referral is needed to see a specialist. However, when you choose to receive care from Dean network providers you will experience lower out-of-pocket costs. And, of course, staying within our network also mans you will not have to file any claims.
