A Tobacco-Free You
Isn’t it time to quit?
Once you have made the choice to quit, Dean Health Plan (DHP) is here to help to succeed.
As part of your health benefits, DHP will provide you with any of the smoking cessation medications on our drug formulary, with a prescription from your doctor, for the cost of your generic copay or $10 per fill, whichever is less.* Tobacco cessation medications include bupropion, Chantix or over-the-counter nicotine-replacement therapy. If you would like to obtain a prescription for one of our prescription medications or the over-the-counter therapy, please call your health care practitioner to discuss if this is an appropriate treatment for you.**
The Wisconsin Quit Line provides free information and one-on-one telephone counseling. Call toll-free 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
We are a smoke free facility
Dean Health Plan, along with St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, and St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin, has implemented a tobacco-free environment policy that encourages employees to stop using tobacco products and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Tobacco use leads to illness — including cancer, heart disease and chronic lung disease — and premature death. As a health care organization, we feel that we need to set an example within our community by showing our commitment to health promotion and disease prevention.
* Copay amount is subject to change.
** Dean Health Plan members who receive benefits through state employment, federal government or the Medicaid/BadgerCare program have different tobacco cessation benefits. For information about this benefit under your specific plan, please call our Customer Service Department at 608-828-1301 or 1-800-279-1301.
