1 grapefruit
1 packed tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Cut grapefruit in half crosswise.
With a small,
sharp knife pointing downwards, separate the segments of each half,
keeping the fruit in the skin. Then run the knife in a circle around
the edge of the skin. (The skin will act as a "bowl" for
the separated grapefruit sections.)
Turn on oven and set to Broil.
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small
bowl. Sprinkle mixture on the grapefruit halves.
Place grapefruit, spiced-side up, on a cookie sheet.
Place in top rack of over and broil
for
5 minutes
or until
the grapefruit surface is bubbling
or golden brown. Serve hot.
