Tummy
Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive
for through exercise and weight control. However, sometimes
these
efforts are not enough to lose the excess fat and skin around
the midsection. Even individuals with otherwise normal body weight
and proportion
can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging.
This may be caused by multiple pregnancies, significant fluctuations
in weight, hereditary genetics, or posture abnormalities.
An abdominoplasty, or "tummy tuck," as it's popularly
known, can surgically remove this excess tissue, resulting in
a sleeker, more defined abdomen. During the surgery, an incision
is made across the lower abdomen and the abdominal muscles are
tightened, narrowing the waistline and flattening the midsection.
The excess is skin removed, and the incision stitched closed.
Abdominal muscles that have weakened or separated (diastasis)
can also be corrected with a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck is not a
substitute for weight loss or a toning exercise program.

Liposuction
If you are troubled by excess fat deposits, located anywhere
on your face or body, that do not respond to diet or exercise,
liposuction may be right for you. Liposuction (also known as
lipoplasty or suction lipectomy) is the surgical removal of
localized or
regional excess fat deposits in your body. Problem areas may
include the legs, buttocks, hips, stomach, arms, chin, neck,
or ankles.
Liposuction can permanently reshape body contours that might otherwise be disproportionately larger compared to the rest of your body. In some cases, liposuction is performed alone; in other cases it is used with plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift, male or female breast reduction, or a tummy tuck. Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks.

Lower
Body Lift
Aging, pregnancy, significant weight fluctuations, as well as
genetic factors may contribute to poor tissue elasticity and
can
result in sagging of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Patients
who have undergone massive weight loss – typically following
bariatric surgery – are also frequently left with large
folds of draping skin that has lost its elasticity. In such cases,
neither diet nor exercise may be effective in shrinking this
skin.
A surgical body lift will reduce excess fat and tighten excess skin and give the body a firm, more contoured appearance. A total lower body lift often combines abdominoplasty, medial thigh lift and, in some cases, liposuction, to give patients a more contoured lower body shape. A body lift can improve cellulite problems which makes the skin surface appear dimpled and irregular.

A thigh lift removes excess skin and fat from the thigh and buttock area. This sagging skin is usually caused by significant weight loss. The goal of a thigh lift (thigh plasty) is to improve the appearance of both thighs by removing saggy skin caused by weight loss or the dimpled look produced by cellulite. Incisions for a thigh lift are hidden within the bathing suit line.

Upper Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
Sagging, loose skin on the upper arms can be an unintended side
effect of successful weight loss. This stretched skin has lost
its elasticity and cannot reform to newly slim arms. Arm lift,
or brachioplasty, is an effective means of removing excess skin
on the arms and tightening the remaining tissue. The
procedure involves either liposuction or an incision, either
along the
inside
of the arm or concealed within the armpit. The smoother,
tighter contours that result from an upper arm lift are apparent
almost
immediately. Skin quality is improved dramatically, both
in appearance and feel.
