DocStar 2008: Behind the Mask
Fundraiser for BSP Free Clinic Showcases Local Physicians
MADISON, WI - On Saturday, April 5, local physicians will put down the stethoscopes and pick up the microphones to showcase their talents at the Second Annual DocStar, benefiting Dean Foundation’s Benevolent Specialists Project (BSP) Free Clinic. After changing venues to accommodate twice the number of attendees, DocStar is once again sold out for 2008!
Dean physicians and friends will take the stage at 7 p.m. that night in musical and comedy acts. Throughout the reception, attendees can also bid on priceless pieces of beauty created and donated by Dean physicians and friends in the new Art Show and Silent Auction! John Hamilton, M.D., Dean Gastroenterologist and Dean Foundation Chairman of the Board, created a barbershop quartet for last year’s first inaugural event with fellow physicians.
“Our interest in medicine brought us together and it turns out we all have musical backgrounds too,” said Dr. Hamilton. “We are very excited to show off our musical talents once again for a cause like DocStar.”
All proceeds from the event benefit BSP-Free Clinic, the only free clinic providing specialty healthcare in Wisconsin. The Clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians and nurses and funded solely by private gifts and donated services from many hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies and laboratories.
Zorba
Paster, M.D. of Dean Health System will

for the event, which includes a reception, art show and silent
