Beaver Dam Doctor Selected As Medical Director

MADISON, WI – Dr. Timothy Rentmeester, a family medicine doctor at Medical Associates of Beaver Dam, has been named to the post of Medical Director for St. Mary’s/Dean Ventures, Inc.

Rentmeester will lead the clinical care for the more than 20 medical clinics – including Medical Associates – that are a part of the St. Mary’s/Dean Ventures network. The joint venture was formed in 1989 between St. Mary's Hospital and Dean Health System to create a network of local community clinics linked to advanced specialty care in Madison.

“I am excited by this new opportunity because of the influence I will have on guiding the future of medical services for communities like Beaver Dam. This is a part-time position, so while I will have to scale back on my clinic hours, I won’t have to give up patient care completely,” explained Rentmeester.

“High on my list of new responsibilities will be to help our rural primary care doctors improve clinical care. For example, our organization has developed new guidelines and measurement tools for the care of patients with diabetes and I will be championing tactics like these,” he said. “We’re also continually working to maintain high levels of patient satisfaction and I’ll be involved in the process to make sure we are meeting our patients’ needs.”

Rentmeester is the first medical director to come from a rural practice area. “Our previous directors were Madison-based,” explains Greg Allen, vice president for regional services, noting that Rentmeester replaces retired pediatric neurosurgeon John Woodford in the role. “Tim knows what it’s like to practice in rural Wisconsin and he will bring an important primary care perspective of how we can best take care of patients now and in the future.”
