DR. KEMP TO TRANSITION FROM DEAN LEADERSHIP

MADISON, WI – Allen D. Kemp, MD, MBA, Dean Health System (DHS) Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair has announced he will be transitioning from his leadership role. Dr. Kemp, 56, has served DHS in this role since 1995. "This is a decision I have contemplated for some time," said Dr. Kemp. "When I took this leadership role in 1995, my goal was to bring the various Dean components into a system. I believe I have accomplished this goal," he added.

Dr. Kemp will remain in his current role during this transition period and will participate in the search process for future leadership. A search committee will be formed immediately. "I believe this process provides an orderly transition that leaves Dean in good hands," he added.

"We are deeply appreciative of the leadership Dr. Kemp has provided Dean over the past ten years," said David Sorber, MD, Chairman of the Board which oversees clinical issues. "He has led development of this organization from a local clinic into a regional health network, and set the stage for Dean to move to the next tier of patient care, innovation and service growth," he added.

Dr. Kemp came to Dean in 1985 as an anesthesiologist. He received his MD degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1976, served an internship at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, New York, and a residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Kemp earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Regis University in 2003. He is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
