Dean Therapy Services / Physical Therapy
Dean’s
Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants work with
patients towards the following goals:
- Improved mobility, strength and function
- Rehabilitation or prevention of physical disability
- Relief of chronic or acute pain
- Development of exercises that are safe and effective for each patient
- To restore and promote wellness, fitness and optimal quality of life
A physician referral is required for physical therapy. Physical therapists specialize in musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problems. A physical therapist will evaluate a patient’s condition and then design and implement a treatment program for each patient. Some of the most common reasons you may be referred to a physical therapist are:
- Back and neck pain
- Shoulder, arm, wrist, or hand problems
- Knee, ankle, or foot problems
- Cardiac rehabilitation
- Arthritis and mobility
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Injury or surgery rehabilitation
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Balance and gait problems
In collaboration with the referring physician and other specialized therapists (occupational, speech, etc.), physical therapists will work to provide the best individualized therapy plan possible for each patient.
