Small Group & Individual Sales Representative
Rebekka Hefty acknowledges that insurance may not always make for fascinating dinner conversation, but she’s captivated by it, nonetheless.
“I love my job!” she enthuses. The challenges it presents and the variety it offers are what she mentions first.
“In our industry, things change daily,” she says. “But that’s what makes it so gratifying because insurance is challenging.”
Much of her responsibilities involve explaining things to prospective individual members or small group clients. The ability do that is a skill she learned 14 years ago as one of Dean Health Plan’s Customer Care Specialists, when she spent 18 months answering a barrage of phone calls before earning various promotions.
“I think like a consumer,” she explains, avoiding the use of unfamiliar acronyms and jargon. Whether she’s helping an agent submit a new group application or working with chambers of commerce to provide the right level of service to meet their needs, Hefty thrives on the interactions.
In her off time, she enjoys family time and relaxing on their Pontoon boat.
“Generally, I like to be outside, and am a huge UW basketball fan.” Just ask her about the past two seasons!
