Starting a family has put an important new twist on how Justin Rixie views health care.

As a new father and a Sales Executive at Dean Health Plan, he understands the value of cost-effective, accessible health care now more than ever. Rixie says the SSM Health-Dean merger that links hospitals, clinics and the health plan makes good sense for families like his, because they become members of an entire system that is working together on behalf of patients.

“I enjoy being at a competitive advantage by representing a time tested, reputable brand such as Dean,” Rixie states. Working with large groups (50 plus employees), he makes a point of emphasizing the integration Dean Health Plan has achieved in recent years.

“We own the clinics and hospitals so we can control those costs,” explains Rixie. Ultimately, he says what integration translates to is higher quality and lower cost.

Rixie’s clients appreciate that too, as they understand insurance, being either experienced agents or veteran HR department professionals. They know too well that cost and quality are key decision points for employers and families.

So Rixie helps them understand what Dean Health Plan has to offer. Ultimately, Rixie says knowing that Dean Clinic has been around for more than a century and will be there in the future, makes “continuity of care” a very attractive pitch.

He says when we can explain our network, pricing and commitment to members, “It makes it easy to sell our value.”

While Rixie spends most of his free time these days cuddling with his baby daughter, he also enjoys traveling, biking, live music and camping.
