Time for Kids: Earth Day Contest Asks How Schools Go Green

Dean Clinic and WISC-TV want to know how area schools are taking care of our planet.


As part of the “Time for Kids: Explore the Outdoors” campaign, Dean Clinic and WISC-TV 3 are holding a special Earth Day contest. We want to know how schools are encouraging kids to preserve the environment by doing things like recycling, planting a school garden or repurposing unused items for art projects.

Area schools are being asked to submit a photo, short video or written entry to show how they’re doing their part to save the planet. Entries can be submitted here and are due by April 10. All participating schools will receive a special Earth Day gift basket and three schools will be chosen to win a tree planting on school grounds by a team from Dean and WISC-TV 3. Tune in to News 3 at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 16 and watch this quick video to learn more about the contest.
“Time for Kids: Explore the Outdoors” is a year-long campaign by Dean Clinic and WISC-TV 3 focused on getting kids to put down their electronics, get up off the couch and get outside. Research shows that kids are spending less time outdoors and therefore missing out on some real health benefits.
