NCQA awarded Dean Health Plan the high-performing status for service and clinical quality that meets or exceeds the rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement. In 2015, NCQA started rating health plans on a 1 to 5 rating, with 5 being best. Across the nation, 491 private and commercial health plans’ performance was benchmarked by the NCQA. NCQA performance ratings combine both a health plan’s Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) scores with a review of its quality operational standards to determine a final score. Dean Health Plan achieved a 5-rating (highest possible score) for the following key areas:

  • Handling of Claims

NCQA released Dean Health Plan’s scores publicly on September 17. You can view the results on its website.
