St. Mary’s Hospital One of 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Engagement

St. Mary’s Hospital is the only Madison area hospital named to the inaugural Becker’s Hospital Review list

Madison – Patient engagement is important to St. Mary’s Hospital. The efforts the hospital makes to ensure patients are satisfied and informed are now showing in rankings by Becker’s Hospital Review.

For the first time ever, Becker’s Hospital Review and Axial Exchange compiled a National Patient Engagement Ranking system. The new rankings evaluate hospitals and provider organizations from across the country regarding publicly available data including readmission rates, patient satisfaction scores and the extent to which organizations offered information and tools to help engage patients in self-care.

Out of the 3,077 U.S. hospitals reviewed, St. Mary’s ranked in the top 100 with a score of 73.9 out of a possible 100. You can see a complete ranking here.

“I am grateful to the staff, physicians and volunteers at St. Mary’s Hospital, whose great work and commitment to exceptional patient care makes this wonderful recognition possible,” said Dr. Frank Byrne, President of St. Mary’s Hospital.

St. Mary’s Hospital is extremely proud to be listed with the other hospitals on the list. Efforts to engage patients in their own health and the healthcare process remain a top priority for our staff, physicians and leadership.
