Early Detection: It’s Your Best Defense

Free Skin Cancer Screening in Dodgeville May 3rd

DODGEVILLE, WI - May is National Skin Cancer Awareness month.  Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers, with more than one million cases diagnosed annually.  But with early detection, more than 90-percent of skin cancer can be cured.

In support of early detection and skin cancer prevention, healthcare professionals in Dodgeville are offering a free skin cancer screening.  The screening will be held Friday, May 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dean Clinic - Dodgeville, Dermatology, located in the Upland Hills Campus, 833 S. Iowa Street in Dodgeville.  The service is provided by dermatology specialists Jennifer Peterson, MD and Sarah Motl, PA-C.

A monthly self-examination is important, as is an annual skin exam by a healthcare provider. Together they are some of the best ways to detect the early warning signs of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma--the three main types of skin cancer.

Appointment times are limited and fill quickly, so call (608) 935-1151 today to schedule an appointment.
