Dean Foundation Offering Free Memory Screens

Middleton, WI – By the time we are old enough to qualify for Medicare, there is a one in eight chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Early detection is a critical step to receiving the best possible medical help, so throughout November and early December Dean Foundation will offer free memory screens to area adults and seniors.

“It is absolutely critical to catch Alzheimer’s as early as possible,” explains Dean Foundation Medical Director, Anne Koplin, MD. “While there is no cure for the disease, early detection allows more time to potentially slow or delay the onset of symptoms.”

Anyone is welcome to take advantage of this community service, especially those with a family history of Alzheimer’s disease, memory concerns, or anyone who wants to have their memory checked now to have the results for future comparison.

A memory screen takes only about 15 minutes and each screen will be performed by a qualified healthcare professional. Those unable to attend one of the free memory screen events listed below, can schedule a free memory screen by calling Dean Foundation’s Middleton office at (608) 827-2333. Walk-ins are also welcome throughout November, Mondays through Thursdays between 9am – 4 pm.
