When It Comes to Keeping Kids Safe, Education is Prevention
Join the Dean Foundation at Family Safety Day in Middleton
Finding all the information you need to keep your family safe isn’t easy. That’s why Dean Foundation, West Bend Mutual Insurance Company and Middleton Fire, Police & EMS are teaming up with other local organizations for the sixth annual Family Safety Day this Saturday, September 15th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middleton Fire Station.
Parents can help their children stay safe by:
• Learning what to look for when choosing a nanny/babysitter.
• Signing up for Safe Assured ID kits with the Middleton Police Department.
• Understanding the appropriate way to respond to common medical emergencies.
More than twenty local organizations will be on hand with valuable information for parents as well as fun, educational activities for kids. Children will have a chance to see fire extinguisher demonstrations, as well as climb into and explore one of Middleton’s fire engines. They can also run through the Harbor Athletic Club obstacle course and dig their hands into one of many kid-friendly demonstrations.
“This event has been great in raising awareness of how to keep our families safe every, single day—not just during an emergency,” says Sherri Faust, Passenger Safety Educator from Dean Foundation. “Family Safety Day is really an extension of what Dean Foundation does year-round, educating families about everything from bike helmets and car seats to food safety.”
Parents can also sign up with Dean Foundation for a free car seat inspection! Just call Sherri at 608-827-2327. Note that space is limited.
The event is free and will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit deancare.com, for all media-related questions, contact Ben Kroeplin at ben.kroeplin@deancare.com or (608) 827-2321.
