Dean Clinic – Janesville East and St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital Honored for Preserving the Environment

Winners Announced for the 2012 Sustainable Janesville Awards

Dean Clinic – Janesville East and St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital recently accepted the 2012 Sustainable Janesville Award at an Earth Day celebration that took place at the Janesville Rotary Botanical Gardens.  

The purpose of the award is to reward, recognize and promote innovation and leadership in sustainability by businesses, community groups and individuals of the City of Janesville. The Sustainable Janesville Committee selects one or more award winners from a pool of nominees.

The following are among the achievement areas considered:

  • Green Building
  • Education and Awareness
  • Renewable Energy or Energy Efficiency
  • Solid Waste Minimization and Recycling
  • Use of Renewable Sources
  • Vehicle Miles Traveled, Fuel Consumption
  • Water Conservation
  • Environmental Policies in Place and in Practice
  • Other Sustainable Issues

Dean Clinic – Janesville East and St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital officially opened the doors to the new medical campus in January 2012. The campus was built with the environment in mind, with numerous green features. Throughout the project, more than 75% of all construction waste was recycled for other uses.
