When It Comes To Keeping Kids Safe, Education Is Prevention!
Family Safety Day 2010 Set For Saturday, September 18
Finding all the information you need to keep your family safe isn’t easy. That’s why Dean Foundation, West Bend Mutual Insurance Company and Middleton Fire, Police & EMS are teaming up with other local organizations for the Fourth Annual Family Safety Day Saturday, September 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middleton Fire Station.
Parents and children can learn how to stay safe by finding the answers to such questions such as:
- How do I choose a reliable nanny or babysitter?
- How can ‘green’ building and renovations help our make our home a healthier home?
- What is the appropriate way to respond to common medical emergencies?
More than twenty local organizations will be on-hand with valuable information for parents as well as fun, educational activities for kids. Children will have a chance to see fire extinguisher demonstrations, as well as climb into and explore one of Middleton’s fire engines. They can also dig their hands into one of many kid-friendly and interactive demonstrations.
“This event has been great in raising awareness of how to keep our families safe every, single day—not just during an emergency,” says Sherri Faust, Passenger Safety Educator from Dean Foundation. “Family Safety Day is really an extension of what Dean Foundation does year-round, educating families about everything from bike helmets and car seats to food safety.”
Parents can also sign up with Dean Foundation for a free car seat inspection! Just call Sherri at 608-827-2327. Note that space is limited.
The event is free and will be held rain or shine.
