Excitement is Building for New Dean Clinic in Edgerton

Construction on the 10,000 square-foot clinic set to begin in November

Edgerton CampusDean Clinic is pleased to announce plans for a clinic to be built adjacent to the new Edgerton Hospital.  The eight month construction project is expected to be complete in July 2011, with plans to open along with the new hospital.

Sartaj Dhillon, MD, Dean Clinic Internal Medicine has been a practicing physician in the Edgerton area since 1995.

“This is a big deal for a small community,” says Dr. Dhillon.  “People don’t have to travel far to get great care in a great facility.  ”

The new state-of-the-art clinic will offer more space, with twice the number of exam rooms as the current clinic.  The plans call for 15 exam rooms.  The current clinic has seven.

The clinic will be attached to the hospital, allowing for patients to benefit from a full continuum of care in one location.  It also means easier decision making in times of emergency since urgent care and emergency services will be located within steps of each other.

“All of a patients needs can be met in one location.  They will no longer need to make a trip across town,” says Dr. Dhillon.  “It will make patient care more efficient.  As doctors, if we need to check on a patient’s condition, for example, we can walk right over to the hospital.”

Dean Clinic-Edgerton currently has two Family Medicine providers, one Internal Medicine provider, along with a Physician Assistant.  Dean also provides outreach specialists in Edgerton who provide care in neurology, OB/GYN, general surgery, and cardiology.  The new clinic will also be home to the Dean Clinic Regional Business office.

A date has not been set, but a groundbreaking ceremony will be held in November.

Dean Clinic-Edgerton is one of more than 30 clinics that comprise the Dean/St. Mary’s Regional Clinic network.  A joint venture of Dean Clinic and St. Mary’s Hospital, both of Madison, it is one of the largest networks of physician practices in the Midwest.

Edgerton Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital.  The hospital serves Edgerton, Milton and the surrounding communities.  Founded in 1923, the facility offers inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic, emergency, urgent care and rehabilitation services.  It is an affiliate of SSM Health Care of Wisconsin.  For additional information about Edgerton Hospital, please visit their website.
