A happy and healthy workplace is the goal of many employers, and two Sauk County companies found a challenge that could benefit their employees and more. Mueller Sports Medicine and Culvers decided to play off the hit NBC show 'Biggest Loser'.
It was a three month challenge to see which company could lose the biggest percentage of body weight. The loser would have to pay $2,500 to the charity of the winning company's choice.
In the end, the average Mueller's employee participating in the contest lost 4.94 percent of his or her body weight. Culver's employees lost, on average, 4.41 percent.
Mueller's wanted the money to go to the Oncology Department at Dean Clinic-Sauk Prairie. The department decided to spend the money on a blanket warmer for chemotherapy/infusion patients who often get chilled during their treatment.
Both companies say they plan to hold a similar competition in the future.
