An iPhone® App for MyChart: Dean Does It First

Dean Clinic Now Offers Mobile Access to Medical Records with an iPhone App

This morning, Dean Clinic officially became the first healthcare organization in the country to offer its patients mobile access to Epic-based medical records with an iPhone® application.  The MyChart app has been designed for users of mobile devices from Apple, including the iPhone®, iPad™ or iPod touch®.

“We see this as a valuable service to our patients,” says D.J. Curran, Dean Clinic Project Manager.  “The app gives patients fast, secure and convenient access to the most frequently used features of MyChart.”

MyChart is Epic Systems Corporation’s web portal to the electronic medical systems used by Dean, as well as other leading healthcare companies across the country.  MyChart users are able to quickly access their medical records, send private messages to Dean Clinic doctors or care providers, see upcoming appointments, get instant lab results and much more.

“MyChart offers true mobility, instant access and optimized convenience,” says Curran.  “Users are not required to be in front of a traditional desktop or laptop computer to access MyChart.  It can be accessed from anywhere and it is 100% secure.”

The MyChart app is free, but it is only available from Apple.  Users can contact the MyChart Support Line with questions at 888-521-3326.  To sign up for MyChart, visit the MyChart page. Dean patients can sign up to gain access to MyChart both on their desktop computer and on their Apple® device.
