More than 41 million women are currently living with some form of cardiovascular disease. It is the leading cause of death of American women, killing more than one third of them.
WomenHeart is the only national organization dedicated to promoting women’s heart health through advocacy, education and patient support. You can visit the national site at www.womenheart.org.
Because their mission of improving the health and healthcare of women living with and at-risk for heart disease aligns so closely with the Dean Clinic mission to improve the health of our community, we are working together to create an environment where women with heart disease can learn, teach, and be supported.
The WomenHeart Support Group meets monthly. These informal meetings are led by a Mayo Clinic-trained WomenHeart ambassador - a heart disease survivor, and supported by a Dean Cardiology Exercise Physiologist.
Women will have an opportunity to share their experience, and to learn, not only from the occasional guest speakers, but also from the experience of other women who, like them, have been touched by heart disease.
If you are a woman living with heart disease, please join us.
